Florent Barbault (ITODYS - University Paris 7, France)
After a master in organic chemistry in 1998, he did a PhD in structural biology. The subject was the elucidation of new RNA HIV-1 drug-targets structures. Florent Barbault took his first postdoctoral position in the pharmaceutical company ENTOMED where he focused on the elaboration of original antimicrobial peptides against Staphylococcus aureus. He took his second postdoctoral position at the Pasteur Institute where he did biochemistry and cellular expression on an integrin binding protein. Since 2003, Florent Barbault works as Associate Professor at the University Paris Diderot, in the Group of Molecular Modelling directed by Prof. BoTao Fan (now Francois Maurel) at the ITODYS laboratory. Research interests: molecular dynamics, docking and QSAR mainly on biological systems in order to elucidate structures activities relationships.
