Ivan Rusyn graduated as a M.D. (with Honors) from Ukrainian State Medical University (Kiev, Ukraine) in 1994. In 1995-1996 he worked as a postdoc in the University of Dusseldorf, Germany. Ivan Rusyn obtained his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000. Later he worked as a postdoc in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(2000-2001). Currently he is an Associate Professor in Molecular Carcinogenesis Lab in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research interests are related to the molecular, biochemical, genetic and genomics approaches to understanding the mechanisms of environmental agent-related organ injury and carcinogenesis. Current projects are performed in collaboration with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, EPA’s National Center for Computational Toxicology and newly established Carolina Environmental Bioinformatics Research Center. Author of 62 publications in peer-reviewed journals. In 1994-2005 obtained a few awards inculding: Young Investigator Award from Oxygen Society (1998/1999/ 2001), AACR - Bristol Myers Squibb Oncology Young Investigator Scholar Award (2000), Individual Postdoctoral National Research Service Award, NIEHS (2000-2002), a.o. |
